Three Indivisible chapters in Pinellas County, Indivisible Mid-Pinellas, Indivisible FL-13 St. Pete, and Indivisible North Pinellas, came together to bring Melanie Rose, Eastern Regional Director at Run for Something (RFS), to Clearwater for an educational talk open to the public.

Run for Something is a national organization that recruits and supports young progressive candidates running for state and local office. The premise is simple. We have spent enough time marching. The next step is owning the ballot.
What We Learned
Local races are where laws actually shape your day. School boards. City councils. State legislatures. The decisions made in those rooms touch every street, every classroom, every clinic. And these races are won by the people who show up to file paperwork, not just the people who show up to protest.
RFS provides candidate recruitment, training, financial support, and a community of peers for everyone running for the first time. They have helped elect over 1,500 candidates since 2017.
